One could say Frank Codina grew up at Primerica. He was 19 years old when he accompanied his father to a meeting with his football coach and teacher Guy Shashaty, now a top producer with Primerica, to find out more about the company. “I was still in college and working as a stock boy,” remembers Frank, “but I saw the promise in Primerica.
“It appealed to me on several levels. I wanted to help people. I wanted to make enough money to do the things I wanted to do – like travel. But I was so young. I was scared. I wondered if I had the credibility to pull it off.”
Greg Fitzpatrick, a long-time Primerica leader and top producer, challenged Frank to dream. “Greg taught me that everyone was afraid,” remembers Frank. “Some people are afraid of failure — even maybe afraid of success — and that stops them from even trying. I wanted to give my dreams a chance, so I dedicated myself to helping others become successful and concentrated on building a team.”
By working hard at getting a little better every day, Frank built a thriving business. In June 1993, he opened his own Primerica office when he was only 21 years old! Soon, he met and married Marcela, who quit her job in banking and joined him to build their Primerica business together.
In the intervening years, Frank and Marcela have opened several Primerica offices and helped many people they have introduced to the business to be successful in their own right. They have even expanded their business to Spain.
Yet, while working hard, they have been able to realize their personal dreams. “One of the things that attracted me to Primerica was the promise of financial resources to live well and travel,” says Frank. “We love being able to take off whenever we want. Marcela and I have been to Asia, Africa, most of the countries of Europe. We’ve taken our moms, who have always wanted to travel, to all sorts of destinations such as Greece, Italy and Spain. They’ve had a great time.”
Having long had a successful business, Frank and Marcela do what they do now for the fun and challenge of helping people become financially independent and realize their own dreams. They are now recruiting people who want to be super successful business owners and who want to go on to help others do so as well
Says Frank, “The rewards of Primerica are on several levels. There’s achieving your own success – but you get there by helping others get what they want too. We love this business!
