Danny and Maricela Chamorro were two young people on their way to a solid, middle class existence in the Southern California sun. He was a registered nurse making a good salary and she was a determined student wrapping up a double major and on the way to a career in sports physical therapy. But something was missing.

“I wanted more out of life but I just didn’t know how to get it,” remembers Danny. “Then, one day my brother started talking to me about life insurance. He showed me how I could replace an expensive variable universal life policy with Primerica term coverage for a fraction of the cost I was paying — so I could invest the savings. I was astounded at how much money he saved me!” Then his brother told him about how Danny could work part-time helping people with Primerica’s financial solutions. Danny signed up. “Within 10 months I was making as much part-time with Primerica as I was making at my full-time job,” laughs Danny. “I was in heaven!”

For Maricela, the first attraction to Primerica wasn’t the money – it was changing lives. She loved being able to offer an Opportunity that anyone could benefit from if they wanted to.  “I was skeptical at first,” admits Maricela. “The idea of just making a lot of money didn’t motivate me at 21 years of age. I was focused on school. It was learning that Primerica is really about helping families that got me interested.

“And when Danny and I joined forces, going full-time – things really took off,” smiles Maricela. “You bet,” says Danny.  “Ten years ago we could only dream of the income we enjoy now. But we had to dream first.”

Today, the couple is raising five children. The family has time to enjoy being together and traveling. “The really gratifying thing for me is that our children look up to us,” says Maricela. “Our son recently wrote a report on heroes for school and he named us!”

Primerica has also given the Chamorros the ability for Danny and Maricela to care for her sister’s children for an extended period of time during a family emergency. “I am so thankful every day that we were able to do that,” says Maricela. “It kept the family together — and the Primerica business went on growing. It didn’t stop or even slow down!”

“Everyone can succeed here,” says Maricela, who has a special outreach toward women (Read about Women in Primerica). Primerica is such a great vehicle to wealth for women – helping them to be free and independent.” As the Chamorros look toward the future, they are continuing to build their business – building more leaders and opening more Primerica offices to serve an ever-growing demand.
