The Drive to Succeed

"Friends introduced me to Primerica back in 1988," says Ricardo. "I loved the concepts that they showed me. The Rule of 72 and Buy Term and Invest the Difference – and much more. I had never heard this stuff before."

Ricardo and his wife, Rosario, also loved the idea that they could start part-time.1 "I was already fed up with my job," remembers Ricardo, "but it was good that I could get started working and training in my Primerica business at nights and on weekends. As it turned out, it was only 10 months after we started that we went to RVP and opened our own office. Then, it was 15 months later that we gave ourselves an SVP promotion – and around 24 months after that we went to NSD."2

Once they started building their Primerica business, Ricardo and Rosario never looked back. "We were truly in the 'right place at the right time' but no matter how good things have been, they're going to get even better. We are extremely excited about the future," says Ricardo. "We're to the point that we can do the things we always dreamed of. And we can take care of family. We have control more than we ever could have if I had stayed in my J.O.B."

On Building

You can start part-time1 in this business but never have a part-time mentality. Realize that nothing worth having comes easy. You have to really want it – really want it. You have to work hard and be coachable. Don’t listen to naysayers. In five years, you’ll be somewhere else and they’ll still be nay saying – just five years older.
